How to Spend the Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. Here is how I usually spend this special day.

In the morning, I wake up early and help my parents prepare zongzi. Zongzi is a traditional food for the festival, made of sticky rice and wrapped in bamboo leaves. It's a lot of fun to learn how to wrap them.

After that, we go to watch the dragon boat races. The teams row the boats vigorously and the spectators cheer loudly. The atmosphere is very exciting.

In the afternoon, we hang mugwort and calamus on the door to drive away evil spirits. I also wear a sachet which is said to bring good luck and protect me from diseases.

In the evening, the whole family gets together to have a big dinner. We enjoy the delicious zongzi and other dishes.

This is how I spend the Dragon Boat Festival. It's a day filled with joy, traditions and family love.
